About this fondue recipe:
Cheddar and mozzarella are two of the most popular cheeses around. Add in some wine and you have a delicious new take on a classic Swiss dish.
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1 cup dry white wine, more if needed
2 teaspoons flour
1 garlic clove, finely minced
Pinch ground white pepper
French bread, cut in cubes for dipping
1. Combine cheese and cornstarch or flour in a large bowl. Mix together until cheese is well coated. Set aside.
2. Add wine to fondue pot and heat on high. When wine starts to bubble, add the rest of the ingredients, except french bread. Stir frequently to prevent lumping and combine. When mixture is well melted, reduced heat to low and serve as desired.
Serve with french bread.
"I like to add a small amount of chopped onion to the mix. Maybe a 1/4 of a red onion."
"Great recipe! Since mozzarella is so mild, I use extra sharp cheddar to balance the two. The sharper the better."
